Heal trauma to increase flexibility

What if I told you that your body is the way your body is not because of some genetic body predisposition, but because there is a connection between your body’s health and your emotional & mental health?


That your emotional issues are stored in your tissues?


There was a particular moment a year ago when I saw this working clearer than ever. An experience with a special friend allowed me to heal through a deep emotional wound and related fear. A few days later, I found out I was suddenly able to comfortably sit in a position I had never been able to put my body in.


From UNABLE to sitting COMFORTABLY!


I also noticed that the look of my face changed completely after that experience. I had been struggling with jaw tension for months which resulted in unbearable migraines, a terribly swollen face, neck & shoulder pain, exhaustion, and despair. After a few days on holidays with this friend who, like me, was trained to hold safe space for people in a way that facilitates healing, I realized I was experiencing no tension or pain in my jaw and that there was no clicking sound when I moved it – which I remembered always being there!!

I was in complete awe. I didn’t use any particular stretching or healing protocol for my jaw or my hips. I just relaxed, felt safe, and released trauma.


Trauma, the way I understand it, is an uncompleted emotional experience. When an emotion cannot flow through to completion, it gets stuck inside of us. Overtime, that creates issues in our tissues.


The more healing work I do, the better life gets, in every way imaginable. For one, my body is more flexible. I recently realized that I can now sit cross-legged all day long or do splits on a whim with no prior stretching or warming up and feel no pain or tension — even on a day when I think I am tense!


When we feel safe, we heal. When we heal, we relax. When we relax, life falls into place, one area at a time.


Sadly, many people don’t even know what it means to feel truly safe as they have no one to template it for them.


When we can feel into the template, we start healing.
