What Is True Freedom?

True freedom is being able to share yourself fully and authentically with those around you without constantly worrying about being proper, censoring all thoughts & feelings you deem too much, not enough, too needy/greedy/angry/jealous/dramatic.
Freedom is not constantly shaming yourself for your thoughts or feelings.
Only when we start to allow all parts of ourselves can we get a taste of true freedom.
Unfortunately, we’ve learned to censor ourselves so thoroughly that we’ve slammed parts of ourselves so deep into the subconscious that we don’t even know how many different parts there are to us - some are judgmental, some afraid, others angry.
Fortunately, it is us who hold the keys to this prison and so we can set ourselves free.
It is freedom to unlock the doors and it is ever so liberating to have friends with whom you can hang out with all those doors wide open and just be — without worrying what they’ll think and say, knowing you’ll be received without judgement or unsolicited advice.
It is oh-so-liberating to stop exerting energy on constantly monitoring all your thoughts and feelings, suppressing what’s not proper. You liberate so much energy when you don’t have to hold up a mask! Life starts feeling lighter, less effortful.
I had no idea something like this was possible. That I could be received, seen, heard, validated, supported, and loved, not just when I am happy or saying smart things but also when I’m judging or not making sense. I am in awe and I know I haven’t even seen anything yet — because the amount of freedom, support & self-expression I get to enjoy is limitless.
I am the only limit.
I am not as authentic, unapologetic or self-expressed as I’d like to be. It’s only the beginning. There is so much more to life. We get to be fully expressed, to light that fire within us. We owe it to ourselves. We owe it to others. Your fire enlightens. Your “you” inspires.
